LITERATURE IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE TEACHING
Keywords:
teachingAbstract
The present paper considers the question of teaching literature in an EFL classroom in general, and in an Algerian context, in particular. It attempts first to display the way literature is taught in both the native language and the French one; secondly, it tries to show how Anglophone literature is tackled at university by students who undertake studies to obtain a degree of English, and to shed light on the difficulties encountered by them in this field. The purpose is to bring to the fore the implications of teaching literature in the context of foreign language teaching.
