PICTORIAL STYLE OF TRANSMISSION OF ELSE’S SPEECH

(verbal-analitycal modifi cation of indirect speech)

Abstract

This paper analyses verbal-analitycal modifi cation of indirect speech in the newspaper report in Serbian daily and weekly newspaper. Analysis examines how usage of this type of indirect speech, as form of reported speech, helps reporter to portray speaking person. Author analyse the interplay of voices, of perspectives, the process of interaction between speaking subjects (reporter and acter of newspaper report) that is present in this written form of journalism, as part of popular culture. The focus is on speaking personality and individual characteristics of her speech present in newspaper-style.
