THE INTERRELATION BETWEEEN THE PSYCHOLOGICAL AND RELIGIOUS IN PETER KORIŠKI ŽITIJE BY THEODOSIUS OF HILANDAR

Abstract

The paper examines the possibilities of interpreting the very nature of Petar Koriški, and the aspects of his psychic life, in regard to the interrelations we hereby explore, as well as the religious experience of the medieval recluse in question. The interrelation is thus established, yet the paper also defines the difference existing between the phenomena such as: the religious exaltation, vision, hallucination and madness. The special focus of the paper is directed toward the modes of transcending the contradictions representing a sort of an interlude into the state of spiritual rest.
